Does it include support for Ultimate Picker?

Can be great if you add min/max no of characters validation for strings.

And can be interesting test to support Repeatable Custom Content as supported datatype Smile

Currently, it supports datatypes based on ultimatepicker,  but i am working on ultimatepicker support as well.

adding min/max char validation is good idea, will do it.

thanks

Hi, Interesting idea.

What would be your case for using this instead of using child nodes?

Looks Great,

how does it go with generating an RSS feed? i.e. for job listings, etc.

Cheers,

S.

Really nice package.. ;)

When I insert a new datatype built with yoiur package om at document type, I get following error:

Unable to cast object of type System.Web.Configuration.ScriptingScriptResourceHandlerSection to type System.Web.Configuration.ScriptingScriptResourceHandlerSection

Any clue??

I get an error whenever I try to add the repeatable data type to any content tab other than the 'Properties' tab.  See our.umbraco.org/.../4497-Error?p=0

Any ideas why this might be?

Thanks

Darren - This can be used for any type of repeatable contents, depending on requirements. I mostly use for creating feature panels, featured listings, gateway pages etc.

Simon - I guess RSS feed can be created using xslt or .net controls with this datatype. An xslt sample can be downloaded from this post, and can be changed to prodice rss feed.

Urlich - It requires .NET 3.5, is you site running on 3.5?, but i will further investigate this issue.

Dan - This should work on any tab, i am using on other tabs as well. I will further investigate this

thanks

Hi Masood

I got it working by upgrading my project to .NET 3.5... I have another problem however. When using the date picker, the picker skips several months when pressing next. When i use it outside your control, it works as expected. The seem to be some sort of conflict between your code and the datepicker when embedded in your control...

Otherwise, thank you for an awesome component.. ;)

Hi Masood.
It took me a while to figure out how to add an ultimate picker style datatype, only cos I didn't look at your last screen shot properly, shame on me.
Great datatype, thankyou very much, I just have one wish.
How hard would it be to display the node *value* rather than the node id in the list of added values shown on the backend when an ultimate picker based datatype is used?  I am using this for a "recipe" document type, the ingredients list.  My "edibles" are selected from an ultimate picker.  In the display, the id of the edible is shown, which makes perfect sense, except that I would like to see the value (the name of the edible) there instead.

Thanks all for great comments,

@Ulrich Ebsen - Thanks for mentioning this issue, date picker is not working properly in some cases. This would be resolved soon Smile

@Claire  - I will have a look at this and will try to add this option as well.

Looking foward to it, it's a great control that will make life even easier for my editors - I've just added a feature photos with captions list to a website I'm building & the whole thing really makes sense.

Hi Masood,

Would it be possible to get the source code for you excellent datatype? I have a current project requirement where this is perfect fit, unfortunately this server hosting is .net20 and wont be changed to 3.5 for quite a while.  So was hoping to get the source and get it work under 2.0.

Many thanks
